Cookstown Burrows Engineering Racing clinch Irish Superbike title!

For the second time in three years the Cookstown Burrows Engineering Racing team has taken the Irish Superbike Championship title and they did it in style at the Faugheen races in County Tipperary on Sunday.

Riding the team's rapid Suzuki GSXR 1000, Derek Sheils led the Superbike Championship race from start to finish and the 25 points he gained for the win over Derek McGee gave him an unassailable lead at the top of the Irish Superbike points table. Sheils succeeds William Dunlop as the Irish Superbike number one.

Team owner John Burrows was delighted with the achievement: "We first won the Irish Superbike title in 2014 and it is really sweet to win it back again. Thanks to his superb riding all year, Derek takes the lion's share of the credit for the title win, but this success would not have been possible without the sterling efforts of the whole crew and the unwavering support of our sponsors, most notably Cookstown.
